  • Panhellenic Assocation

The Panhellenic Association serves as the collegiate governing body of the 10 National Panhellenic Conference sororities and 2 associate chapters of the UC Irvine campus.

The Panhellenic council is composed of 8 executive board officers and 6 assistant officers. The Panhellenic Association works to unite sororotiy women on common goals, create a network of support for chapters and members, and to serve our Greek and University community. We sponsor interactive programs and activities not only for sorority women, but for all students such as educational speakeres, B.A.N.G! (Being a New Greek), and quarterly Risk Events.

    Panhellenic Creed

We, as Undergraduate Members of women's
fraternities, stand for good scholarship, for guarding
of good health, for maintenance of fine standards,
and for serving, to the best of our ability, our college
community. Cooperation for furthering fraternity life,
in harmony with its best possibilities, is the ideal that
    shall guide our fraternity activities.

We, as Fraternity Women, stand for service through
the development of character inspired by the close
contact and deep friendship of the individual fraternity
and Panhellenic life. The opportunity for wide and
wise human service, through mutual respect and
helpfulness, is the tenet by which we strive to live.

    The National Panhellenic Conference

The National Panhellenic Conference is an organization composed of women's Greek-letter fraternities. Each of the member groups is an autonomous social organization of college women, undergraduates, and alumnae.

The National Panhellenic Conference was established to assist collegiate and alumnae chapters of the member groups, to cooperate with olleges and universities, and foster interfraternal relationships.

    MISSION STATEMENT OF NPC
RESOLVED (October 2000): The National Panhellenic Conference supports its women's fraternities by promoting values, education, leadership, friendships, cooperation and citizenship.

In order to conduct business, this delegate body meets annual at either Biennial Sessions (odd years) or Interim Sessions (even years). The delegates function year round as members of NPC committees, the largest of which are the Alumnae Panhellenics Committee and the College Panhellenics Committee.

What does it mean to be Greek?
    FRIENDSHIP
Being Greek adds more to the meaning of friendship. Sororities provide excellent networking opportunities to meet members from your chapter as well as others. Sororities are composed of much more than the individuals in your chapter, they extend to collegians and alumnae as well as members of the Greek community nationwide.

    LEADERSHIP
Membership in a sorority provides many ways to take active leadership roles within each chapter. Every sorority has numerous offices and leadership positions to fill and sisters can provide information for involvement both in the University and the community. In addition to the leadership positions individual chapters offer, there are also opportunities to have additional positions within the Greek community.

    SCHOLARSHIP
While Greeks are greatly involved in the community and the campus, we always remember that academics is our number one reason for attending UCI. The Panhellenic Association offers scholarships and recognizes Panhellenic women that maintain high GPAs. In addition, there re three honor societies that also recognize Greeks for their outstanding ability to excel in academics and participate in extracurrciular activies. Furthermore, Panhellenic hosts events thoughout the year to help achieve academic goals with Panhellenic Pitstop, Coffeetalks, sister tutoring lists, and more.

    COMMUNITY SERVICE AND PHILANTHROPY
Each sorority has its own national philanthropy and participates on both a local and naitonal level through volunteering, projects and fundraising. In addition to these efforts, the Greek community comes together as a whole to raise money with such productions such as Greek Songfest which benefitted Camp Footprints and Mercy House and also Formal Recruitment Philanthropy Day, which benefits Mercy House and a new organization will be picked again this year.
